Hello Friends and Followers,

Thanks so much for your support of our small pottery business for the past two years! We have loved being the new “city center” and are growing in love with the people who visit us and the other business owners and staff.
Since our time off at the holidays, it has become very clear that we need to make some changes to the structure of our business. Now that we have a couple of years under our belt at the store, we are making a big move as of this month. We will not be open the first weekend of every month.
Here’s why…
Since we are a pop-up store, and spend at least two hours (sometimes more) setting up and tearing down, that adds up to about 30 hours a week alone– just to make sales. As creatives in a small business, that leaves little time to produce products that we really love. But most importantly, we are learning that a good business model is not just about making sales.
Our vision is to be a support to the community of creatives and small business owners. In order to do this, we need to create the time to stop and rest, so that we can really see the needs of the people around us and be intentional about how to grow and serve others.
Last year, I had two opportunities to collect vendors for events in the area. One of which was the Tumwater Craft District Holiday Market. It was so successful, we are now going forward with monthly Makers Markets, the second Thursday of every month, 4:00-8:00 pm. Make sure to mark your calendars!
I am also looking for vendors to fill our space when we are not there. Please feel free to forward my information to anyone you know who might be interested.
The goal of these changes is to be a healthier version of who we are today! I am stronger when I am not afraid of change! I look forward to our future time at the Tumwater Craft District, ready to serve, see, value, and hear your stories.
Thanks for listening,
Lois
